The Mission
The rules of Artificial Intelligence should not be written solely by corporations in closed boardrooms, nor by the algorithms themselves. They should be written by the people they serve.
A New Intelligence, An Old Question
We stand at the threshold of a new era. As AI becomes more autonomous, the question is no longer just what can it do?, but what should it do? Currently, the ethical boundaries of AI are being defined by profit motives and technical constraints, leaving the human element as an afterthought.
Consensus From Below
The Silicon Tablets is an initiative to democratize the ethics of AI. We believe in the wisdom of the crowd. By allowing humanity to propose, debate, and rank the principles that should govern our machines, we create a clear, unified voice that developers and policymakers cannot ignore.
A Living Constitution
This is not a static list of commandments etched in stone, but a living constitution written in code and consensus. Our goal is to curate the top 10 principles that the world agrees upon, creating a universal standard for 'The Good Machine.'
Community Guidelines
To ensure The Silicon Tablets remains a place of high-signal ethical discourse, all submissions are subject to the following standard:
- Civil Discourse: Disagreement is welcome; disrespect is not. Attack the idea, not the person.
- No Hate Speech: We have a zero-tolerance policy for content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hostility.
- Relevance: Principles must be focused on AI ethics. Off-topic political ranting or spam will be removed.
Enforcement
We employ Automated AI Moderation to scan every submission in real-time. Content that fails this safety check is rejected immediately.
